Our open space design for a residential enclave on the Climate Dike, Reeve in Kampen combines contemporary village living with a biodiverse, green setting. Imagine living on top of the Netherland’s newest climate dike! The design is inspired by hybridising two traditional Dutch typologies of villages for dikes and terps in a concept called ‘dijkerp’. The internal courtyard space is informal, intimate and child friendly. Play routes, neighbourhood meeting points with picnic tables and sidewalk gardens are coupled with ‘ garden days’ to enhance community building.
